Dedicating this one to Kenny Lane

Ry and David can really bend those strings!

  1. In the early '60s, looong before books and videos and generally-available guitar teachers, most of us applied the time-honored "Listen, watch, and try" method to figuring it out. Scratchy old 78s were the only source to be had; the highest accolade for a fellow folkie was "Sounds just like the record."

Ry Cooder legendarily performed at an LA folk club and was observed making a rhythmic scritching noise while he played. Just like the record.
