Looks like one of those high tech Chinese subs

The little windows are just so cute.

  1. The conning tower placement and look of the boat suggests that it's a Chinese version of a Russian Kilo Class. But what do I know?

  2. Yep, and the conning tower is OUTSIDE of the pressure hull so the windows would not compromise hull integrity..............

  3. Depending on the trim characteristics of the boat, the windows in the conning tower might be useful when snorkeling. You can send a sacrificial goat up there to see how much water there is between the top of the sail and the surface.

Of course, these days, a snorkel is not much more than a target.

  4. do the windows slide open so they can get some sea breeze? ( a rhetorical question, please do not shoot me!)

  5. I know nothing about subs, so can someone tell me if it is going down or coming up, and what those little windows are for? (mine is not a rhetorical question, so if you want to shoot, it appears there is a target rich environment at the blacksmith's)...

    1. Coming up, and they sit inside out of the weather and look out when making way on the surface.
