There really are some big trees out in California























This one is a giant Sequoia, and has been named "The President."  It is the second largest measured tree, by mass, known to us.

It contains at least 54,000 cubic feet of wood and bark, and is 3200 years old, and still growing.  It's 27 feet in diameter at the base, and 247 feet tall.

If it fell in the woods, you can bet it would make a sound even if no one was there to hear it.
