This morning me and the two girls drove out to the local community airport and met a pal of mine for breakfast, who flew his plane down from Columbia to meet us.

While we were there a trio of these amazing aircraft flew in and landed, coming from Marysville.  It turns out that they are Ercoupe airplanes, manufactured in 1946 for what was hoped to be a large market of ex military pilots who would want to continue flying.  They built about 5000 of them, and let me tell you, they were the coolest two seaters I have ever seen.  My favorite is the Liberator bomber tail, which may be unique to this plane.
